He rode for some of the top trainers, including John Dunlop, Clive Brittain, Lady Herries, Toby Balding, Hughie Morrison and Richard Hannon.

Although he loved riding, Jim always held a burning ambition to be a trainer, and as such he has always been keen to recognise and gain experience from the various top yards he has been involved with, including assisting Mark Pitman in Lambourn and taking guidance from Champion Trainer Toby Balding. Our team is made up of experienced professionals who are passionate about horse racing. We have years of experience in the industry and have trained around 300 winners. We  are committed to helping you make informed decisions and achieve success.

Tom Best started his career at the tender age of 12 with Richard Rowe and Josh Gifford. After more than 100 rides on the flat, and winning the Amateur Championship Turf and All Weather, and representing England in the Amateur Riders Fegenti Series, he moved to Toby Balding's Fyfield yard. There he switched to National Hunt, winning many high-calibre races including the Cantor Handicap Hurdle at Ascot and the Grade I Sefton Novice Hurdle Race at the Aintree festival.

After two years at Toby's, Tom started to struggle to maintain his weight, and decided to retire from riding and concentrate on gaining as much knowledge about training as possible, spending a year at Champion Trainer Paul Nicholls' yard. Tom, with his abundance of experience, also does most of the schooling at home. At Best-Racing, our vision is to be the leading provider of horse racing information and resources. We are dedicated to helping our customers succeed and are always looking for ways to improve our services.
